Glen Albyn Distillery April 1980
This stunning photograph by Peter Scott captures Glen Albyn in vibrant, full colour. It was originally featured on the Canal Plan UK website.
Seeing Glen Albyn in colour is quite uncommon, and the image showcases the crisp and clean appearance of the exterior, indicating that it has likely undergone a recent repaint. In accordance with Canal Plan's wishes and their terms for using photographs, I have refrained from linking directly to their website, as stipulated by the creative commons license.
I've harnessed A.I. technology to breathe new life into the image for the digital age. As we explore the history of the site and its warehousing, this image could become quite valuable in the future. And just to the left, we can spot the pagoda - unfortunately, this appears to be the sole image available from that era.
This image would suggest an earlier prior photograph of the warehousing and slightly aged painting helps us date it to sometime in the 1970s, as we have a precise date from Peter here of the a splendid new paint job.
My thanks again to Peter for capturing the moment and Canal Plan UK.
